hydrant flushing

The City of Minnetrista Public Works will begin its annual fire hydrant flushing the week of April 29, 2024.  Flushing all hydrants in the City will take approximately three weeks.

When hydrants are flushed, residents may experience short periods of cloudy or rusty colored water along with possible short-term low water pressure. The discolored water is caused by rust that can sometimes accumulate on the water mains' interior. No adverse health threat is associated with the rusty water, but homeowners are advised not to wash clothing until the water at their taps runs clear. The discolored water generally clears up within one to two hours.

If residents have any questions or concerns, please contact the City of Minnetrista at 952-446-1660.
